The library at Lanhydrock House comprises of 3000 volumes. Housed in the spectacular 35 metre Long Gallery, it is one of the most important collections of rare books in Europe. This exhibition will draw on the rich collection to show how sport was viewed through Tudor and Stuart eyes. It will reflect on the popularity of Tudor folk games and follow the decline of sport before and after the British civil war and its resurgence of popularity with the 1660 Restoration of the monarchy.
