Ancient and Modern Sports in Penryn

Tuesday 10 Apr to Friday 30 Nov
Penryn Museum, Higher Market Street, Penryn

Penryn's sporting history goes back a long way. Real tennis was played here in the Tudor period and in 1735 Samuel Enys lost a guinea at a cock fight at Tremough. Home to a bowling green by 1711, the town also boats one of Cornwall's best rugby clubs. Artefacts such as velvet rugby caps and photographs will be used to tell this fascinating, and continuing, story.
